FA/18 Interceptor

A perfect blend of simulator and game.
One of the first games to be released on the Amiga, this is still the most fun I’ve ever had in a flight simulator. The graphics were simplistic but quick, the missions simple but dramatic and you could pick up a joystick and take off almost instantly. A perfect blend of simulator and game.
Flying sideways along the Golden Gate Bridge or hedge-hopping behind a cruise missile trying to destroy it, felt great. Not the most realistic but by far the most fun. (Possibly beaten only by Wings).
The game gives the player a choice of two aircraft, the F-16 Falcon or the F/A18 Hornet, though the differences are primarily armaments and HUD rather than handling.
Besides the free-flying mode, there were six missions set in the cold war. Protect Air-Force One, combat enemy aircraft, rescue a fellow pilot and save San Francisco from a cruise missile.
