At the time this game was nothing short of revolutionary. Multiple tables were not a new thing, but the physics quality in this game was nearly perfect. The other problem for pinball games designers was that of screen size – how to fit the whole table on-screen without it looking like you were hovering ten feet above the table. Scrolling was the answer. The whole table was about four screens high and tracked the ball superbly to its target.
21st Century created a masterpiece and the two games, Dreams & Fantasies were long held as the best examples of the genre. They look a little dated when put next to one of the Pro Pinball games but it makes them no less fun.
Nightmare was my favourite table – ramp the clock up to midnight and chalk up the millions
